Job Description and Requirements

Job Holder:

2.0 TITLE: Senior Registrar Family Medicine

3.0 ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

3.1. Reports to F&CM Director and F&CM Asst. Director for Medical Affairs.

3.2. Responsible for Registrars and Service Physicians in his/her unit.

3.3. Liaises with:

3.3.1 Family Medicine Physicians
3.3.2 Polyclinics and ER Physicians
3.3.3 F&CM Administrative Staff
3.3.4 F&CM Nursing Staff
3.3.5 F&CM Laboratory Staff
3.3.6 F&CM Pharmacy Staff
3.3.7 F&CM Radiology Staff
3.3.8 Patients and their relatives

4.0 JOB SUMMARY:

To provide effective and efficient primary health care service for the eligible population of the Security Forces Hospital through running his/her own clinics and providing supervision on clinical practice of the unit as requested by his/her Consultant.

5.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

5.1 To provided a comprehensive health care for eligible patients presenting at F&CM.

5.2 To arrange for hospital admission as necessitated by clinical assessment after discussing the case with the Unit Consultant and then with the appropriate team on call.

5.3 To refer patients requiring secondary care consultation to appropriate specialty clinics after discussing the case with the clinical Unit Consultant.


5.4 To participate in Quality Management and to serve as a Q.M. facilitator when directed.

5.5 To actively participate in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs within and outside F&CM Department.

5.6 To participate in ALSC training programs and continuously holds a valid certificate of ALSC.

5.7 To comply with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards.

5.8 Through the chain of command and/or occurrence variance report, identifies any occurrence not consistent with the operation of the hospital or standard of service for patients, employees or visitors and situations that put patients, staff or visitors at risk for injury or other harm.

5.9 To perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

6.0 EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

6.1. Must be a graduate of a recognized medical school with MBBS degree or equivalent.

6.2. Must be a holder of Board Certificate in Family Practice from an affiliated institution or its equivalent (Fellowship/Membership).

6.3. Must possess a valid current license to practice medicine.

7.0 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

7.1. At least four (4) years of clinical experience after his/her post graduate qualification (as indicated by the regulations of the Credentials Committee).

8.0 SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

8.1 Should be fluent in written and spoken both Arabic and English.
